Houseman Caretaker, Palm Beach, FL

A lovely executive couple with a seasonal home in Palm Beach are seeking a polished, professional, highly discreet, and hands-on Houseman/Caretaker for a private family residence. This full-time, year-round role reports to the Director of Residences and works alongside and supports the Executive Housekeeper.

The right candidate is a self-starter who enjoys daily hands-on work, is willing to learn from the team, provides dedicated support for the family, and takes pride in maintaining and enhancing the home to the highest standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated, hands-on daily support for the family and residence
• Assist with household upkeep, odd jobs, light maintenance, furniture polishing, batteries, lightbulbs, filters, and care of fine interiors.
• Maintain exterior spaces, including patios, terraces, outdoor dining areas, walkways, windows, umbrellas, and related outdoor areas.
• Care for vehicles, including washing, fueling, organizing, and ensuring they are ready for use.
• Support family and guest arrivals/departures, parties, events, entertaining, errands, and special household requests.
• Procure household supplies, provisions, and flowers; manage inventory in coordination with the Executive Housekeeper.
• Help the team refine and enhance service levels, household routines, and operating processes.

Qualifications

• Prior experience working in a similar position in a private home or luxury hotel property with a desire to offer five-star service.
• Willing to learn, take direction, and continually improve service standards and household processes.
• Understands (or willing to learn) proper protocol, etiquette, and service standards.
• Computer literate for email, reporting, and basic household communication.
• Comfortably navigates smart home technology and related systems.
• Professional demeanor and appearance with a positive, pleasant personality.
• Excellent attention to detail and organization.
• Works well as part of a team; all-hands-on-deck attitude.
• Highly discreet, trustworthy, and comfortable working in a private family residence.
• Superior communication skills. Strong English is required.

Schedule

• Generally, Monday to Friday
• In season (February, March, and April), hours may be 8/9/10 am to 6 pm, with some weekends and extended hours required
• Off season, hours are generally 8 am to 4 pm
• Some flexibility is requested for travel to other homes during the off season to help prep them for principal arrivals. Perhaps 2-3 weeks annually.

Salary and Benefits

• Salary range of $90,000 to $120,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
• Benefits include an annual discretionary bonus, medical/dental/vision, PTO, paid holidays, and 401(k) with match
