Executive Housekeeper
A private family with grown children seeks an experienced Executive Housekeeper for a full-charge role in a newly renovated Palm Beach estate.
The principals are seeking a hands-on professional with a refined and elevated hospitality mindset, preferably gained in a private home. The successful candidate is highly skilled, a hard worker, and flexible to accommodate changes in the schedule. You must enjoy working alongside another Housekeeper.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the residence to an exceptional standard at all times
- Perform daily and deep cleaning
- Vacuum floors, carpets, and rugs
- Dust and polish furniture, woodwork, and decorative surfaces
- Expertly manage laundry including washing, sorting, folding, ironing, and pressing
- Maintain the kitchen to the highest standards of cleanliness and organization
- Operate and maintain all household cleaning equipment safely and efficiently
- Monitor household supplies and purchase groceries and household essentials as needed
- Report maintenance issues or required repairs promptly to the Personal Assistant or Maintenance Manager
- Run occasional household errands
- Assist with meal service and entertainment during dinner parties, special events, and visits by house guests
- Work closely with the Maintenance Manager to ensure the interior and exterior of the property are impeccably maintained
- Clear, organize, and maintain beach and pool towels
- Ensure the pool area and upper deck remain clean, tidy, and guest-ready
- Communicate proactively with the Maintenance Manager regarding maintenance concerns or issues requiring attention
- Assist with entertaining, including dinner parties and caring for house guests. A private chef and additional housekeepers are typically on site during these periods.
Qualifications
- Fluency in English
- A minimum of five years' experience working in luxury private homes
- Experience supporting a busy, high-end household with discretion and professionalism
- A polished professional who is proactive and smart
- Triages well, instinctively
- Comfortable coordinating with the other household staff and the principals
- A valid driver's license and confidence driving
- Basic computer skills
- Excellent organization, attention to detail, and flexibility with scheduling
- At least two excellent, verifiable verbal references from previous employers
Schedule:
- January – Mid April + several weeks around Thanksgiving, and a period in December that does not include Christmas or New Year's.
- When the principals are in residence, the Senior Housekeeper will work a six-day week, typically beginning at 8:00 a.m., with one weekday off.
- Saturday and Sunday availability is required.
- Mid – April to November (Off Season)
- Typically, Monday to Friday
- Approximately 9:00 am to 3:00 pm with some longer days for deliveries or vendors.
- In July and August, the role will be approximately three days/week to balance out the expectations in season.
- Flexibility is essential because the family may make additional visits throughout the year with limited notice.
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual base salary of $110,000 to $125,000
- Annual discretionary bonus, health insurance, PTO, etc.
